But on to today. After classes today, I needed to but a pencil as mine was hijacked in school. There is a Target nearby and I stopped there for two reasons. One to get a pencil and two to see if they had any new diecasts come out. This Target has been in a little standstill as they were rearranging their vehicle aisle and have not had any new shipments come in for the past week or two. I decided to wait a little, maybe a couple of weeks and then hunt for any vehicles. And today, I was able to find some really cool cars. Here is the list of what I got:
Hot Wheels
'81 Delorean DMC-12
2009 Renault Megane Trophy
'XX Ferrari Enzo
2010 Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggra
1999 Honda S2000
Matchbox
'65 Shelby Cobra 427 S/C
Yamaha Rhino
I already have a couple of the same make-model cars in my collection, but these were different colors and designs and so I wanted to add them. I have in my collection already: 2 Deloreans, 2 Ferrari Enzos, 1 Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggra, and 1 Shelby Cobra. I like to collect different colors of the same car and most of these will come off the shelves early on so I jumped at the chance to buy them. These are all really cool cars and have good details. The most detailed are the Gallardo and the Rhino. From the accurate headlamp decals to the side stripe decal. I would have liked it if Hotwheels added decals for the rear lights. It seems both Matchbox and Hotwheels rarely add both headlights and tailights at the same time, although I have some that do. Wheel scale on all but the Enzo appear proprotional to the vehicle. The one thing I really don't like is Hotwheels' addition of larger rear wheels on most cars. From the ones I bought, the Enzo was the only one that had the larger wheels. And when I say larger wheels, they intentionally increase the size to 1.5x the front wheels. I understand why they do it, but for me, I prefer the more realistic proportioned cars. To some this is a trivial matter, they are only toy cars. True, but as a collector I am just picky about my cars. And I want to showcase all the same scale and equally proportioned cars. Otherwise it just seems odd. Which brings me to the Yamaha Rhino. I have been avoiding talking about it for one main reason, its not 1:64 scale. You can see it in the picture. It is 1:55 scale making it the size of a hummer, which for a buggy is horrible. But I overlooked my rule of same scale cars because it is a rarer vehicle and its different than Matchbox's normal line of cars or trucks. So I got it, and I don't regret it. Although larger it is still a cool vehicle with some cool detail like the different plastic appearing as the roll cage and front bull bar. You can see the rear bed filled with equiptment and the doors.
I will need to work on the quality of pictures I put up, but for now I am just getting used to the blog atmosphere. So these was my capture for today. Until next time.
